Circuit Stations

A Free Movement Program for Primary Schools

A ready-to-use training pack designed to build strength, power, balance, agility and fundamental movement skills while giving students real opportunities to practise leadership, cooperation and social skills

Why This Circuit?

This isn't just a fitness circuit. It has a genuine connection to what we care about, because it brings together:

  • Movement and physical wellbeing

  • Self-regulation and readiness to learn

  • Social connection and cooperation

  • Leadership and responsibility

  • Confidence and participation

  • Fundamental movement skills, which support children's physical development

  • Opportunities for students to experience competence, persistence, and positive interaction

It's a chance for kids to build the whole-person skills we believe in, not just their fitness.

What's Included

  1. Circuit Stations – Kids Edition: 7 illustrated exercise stations with kid-friendly instructions and coaching cues.

  2. Helper Rotation Plan: a 10-helper round-robin roster so every student gets a turn to lead, plus a Week 3 independent-play option and a Wet Weather Plan for indoor days.

  3. Warm-Up Guide: a RAMP-based warm-up with animal-walk games kids genuinely enjoy.

Quick Info

  • Ages: 7–13

  • Group size: whole class, or independent play in a supervised playground area

  • Equipment: minimal & listed in Helper Rotation Plan

  • Time: roughly 15–20 minutes; works well as a weekly PE anchor, with optional independent recess/lunch play once the class knows the moves

How to Use It

  1. Print and laminate the station cards.

  2. Warm up first using the Warm-Up Guide.

  3. Set up stations around your space (indoors or out) and rotate helpers using the Helper Rotation Plan, so leadership gets shared around the class.

  4. Once students know the moves, the circuit doesn't have to stop at the PE lesson. The same low-equipment stations can run independently at recess or lunch, set up in a corner of the playground within view of the rostered duty teacher.
